Dyan Sharone Hes, MD, FAAP

Biography

Dr. Dyan Hes is Board Certified in Pediatrics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). Dr. Hes served as  a Director of the ABOM for 8 years. Upon completing her undergraduate degree in public health at The Johns Hopkins University, she attended medical school at the University of Tel Aviv, Sackler School of Medicine. Dr. Hes completed her residency in Social Pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY, where she was able to combine her love of public health and medicine. After residency, Dr. Hes worked as a pediatrician and pediatric emergency room physician in Brooklyn, NY for 10 years.

Consistently named one of New York’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly since 2010 and the award of Exceptional Women In Medicine from 2019 to 2024, Dr. Dyan Hes was the founder and medical director of Gramercy Pediatrics in New York City. She served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Hes joined Concorde Medical Group in February 2023 and she serves as director of pediatrics at Concorde.

Dr. Hes provides primary care to children from birth through college. She is an active advocate for pediatric and adolescent nutrition and weight management.  Over the years, she has developed many programs to combat obesity among children. Dr. Hes has a special interest in helping children with obesity and special needs. She enjoys helping families of picky eaters and children with nutritional issues. Using her more than 20 years’ experience in the field, Dr. Hes serves as a  medical correspondent for CBS News. She is a medical contributor to all major news networks, particularly FOX5NY and FOX News. In addition, she regularly contributes to articles on various pediatric topics in most major news publications. Dr. Hes enjoys serving on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Grain Foods Foundation.

Dr. Hes resides in Chelsea, NY where she raises both her college-aged son and teen daughter. Some of her hobbies include fitness, sunbathing (with sunscreen!) and power walking. She loves seeing her patients while running errands with her kids or walking her dogs in the neighborhood.
