Paula Marchetta, MD, MBA

Biography

Paula Marchetta, MD, MBA is SVP Physician Executive for Northwell’s Western Region.  She also leads Concorde Medical Group, Northwell’s largest multi-specialty practice in Manhattan, with 39 physicians and more than 90 staff members across 11 locations.  Dr. Marchetta is also a professor at the Zucker School of Medicine.

A nationally recognized rheumatologist, Dr. Marchetta has held several leadership positions at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), including President in 2019.  She has been named as an ACR Master, one of the highest honors the College bestows on its members.  During her long clinical career, she has also been consistently listed as a top doctor by Castle Connolly, New York Magazine, and New York Super Doctors®.

Dr. Marchetta graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in English from Fordham University where she also completed her master’s degree in English. She went on to earn her MD from New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha.  She completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at NYU-Bellevue Hospital, where she served as chief medical resident. She went on to fellowship in rheumatology at the combined Bellevue/Hospital for Joint Diseases program, where she also was selected as chief fellow. Following fellowship, Dr. Marchetta stayed on at NYU as a voluntary physician, first in solo private practice and then as a partner in the newly formed Concorde Medical Group, where she later became the managing partner and chief executive officer.  During this time, she also served as a member of the executive committee of the Medical Board at NYU Langone, as president of the board of directors of NYU’s Clinically Integrated Network, and as a member of the executive committee and board of University Physicians Network (UPN), the NYU IPA.

Dr. Marchetta received her MBA from The George Washington University School of Business and later completed an intensive executive education program in health care management at Harvard Business School.
