Biography
Dr. Laura Guderian is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. She sees adults aged 18 years and older. Her clinical interests include women’s health, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender/gender non-binary health (anal cancer screening, PrEP, Doxy PEP, gender affirming care), sexual health and sexually transmitted infections, HIV care, and travel medicine (immunizations, malaria prophylaxis). She is passionate about helping her patients prevent chronic diseases, treating acute illness and setting health priorities.
Dr. Guderian grew up in Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude with a degree in philosophy. She earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center – Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in the Bronx. After residency, Dr. Guderian spent a year with Baylor Pediatric AIDS Corps in Botswana where she provided HIV care for adults and adolescents. When she returned to the United States, she completed residency in Preventive Medicine and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
In 2010, Dr. Guderian returned to NYC and joined the Montefiore Comprehensive Care Center in the Bronx as a primary care and infectious diseases physician. She also supervised Primary Care and Social Medicine Internal Medicine residents and infectious diseases fellows. In 2013, she joined One Medical Group in Manhattan and joined Concorde Medical Group in 2023.
In her patient practice, Dr. Guderian prioritizes a comprehensive understanding of each individual’s health goals and needs. She recognizes that it is important to be thorough and to consider each person’s unique circumstances to provide high quality care. She also believes in close collaboration with specialists and caregivers. Living in Manhattan with her husband, she enjoys live jazz and loves to learn new things about NYC.
