Paul Todd Smith, MD FACP

Biography

Paul T. Smith, MD FACP is a dual board-certified physician in both internal medicine and infectious diseases. Dr. Smith sees patients as a primary care doctor and/or as a specialist in infectious diseases. His clinical areas of interest in infectious diseases include the management of HIV infection, COVID-19, hepatitis B infection, hepatitis C infection, the work up of unexplained fevers (FUO), treatment of skin and soft tissue infections including MRSA, treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including syphilis and monkeypox, treatment of complicated urinary tract infections, evaluation and treatment of tick borne illnesses, travel related infections including malaria as well as infectious diarrhea (bacterial and parasitic) as well as the management of Clostridium difficile infection. He also provides counseling regarding HIV and sexually transmitted disease prevention, including HIV PrEP for high-risk individuals as well as consultation on infection control measures. He also administers a wide range of vaccinations including HPV and meningitis to high risk individuals.

Dr. Smith also practices travel medicine and is a licensed Yellow Fever designated physician. In his practice, he advises travelers on foreign travel precautions as well as administers recommended and/or required vaccinations and medications needed for safe travel abroad. He also has appointments available for returning travelers who may come back ill from their destinations.
