Lawrence Baruch, MD

Biography

Dr. Lawrence Baruch has been a practicing cardiologist for over 30 years. After graduating from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completing his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City, Dr. Baruch practiced at the Bronx VA and Mt Sinai Medical Centers. Throughout his career, Dr. Baruch has been actively involved in patient care, clinical research, and teaching fellows, residents and medical students.

Before joining Concorde Medical group, Dr. Baruch directed the echocardiography laboratory and anticoagulation clinic at the Bronx VA Medical Center and was most recently the Acting Chief of Cardiology at the Bronx VA Medical Center.

His areas of research, publications and presentations have focused on optimizing the use of the newer anticoagulants, stroke risk stratification in atrial fibrillation, treatment of heart failure, lipid management, as well as optimizing disease management in cardiovascular disease. He has been the recipient of several NIH funded grants in the areas of disease management in cardiovascular disease and hypertension.

Dr. Baruch has also been exploring novel approaches to telemonitoring of patients with cardiovascular disease and is the co-holder of a patent using a “smart sock” to measure leg swelling in patients with heart failure and helped develop a “smart scale” for the management of patients with cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Baruch’s broad clinical and academic experience has provided him with the tools to treat patients across the spectrum of cardiovascular disease using both established and innovative, novel approaches.
