Biography
Dr. Elen Blochin is a dual-trained dermatologist and dermatopathologist. She completed her dermatology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School where she served as chief resident. Prior to that she completed her pathology residency at New York University Medical School followed by a fellowship in oncologic pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She then completed a dermatopathology fellowship at Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology in New York. Upon completion of her dermatopathology fellowship, she remained on the faculty and served as laboratory director at Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology for four years. While at Eastern Virginia Medical School she continued to practice dermatopathology and direct the laboratory. She has authored multiple scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national and international meetings. She is a member of American Academy of Dermatology and American Academy of Dermatopathology.
Dr. Blochin sees patients with all dermatologic conditions. She has a special interest in inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, eczema, as well as acne, skin cancer and hair disorders. She also speaks fluent Russian.
