Biography
Dr. Ganesh Sivakumar is a board certified internal medicine physician who believes in offering a personalized approach to patient care that factors in all aspects of the patient, including non-medical needs. His interests include preventative medicine, screening for cardiovascular disease, cancer screening, and management of chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and COPD.
Dr. Sivakumar grew up in California and graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Computer Science. While working as software engineer at an electronic medical record company, he discovered his passion for patient care and decided to pursue medicine. He received his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed his internship and residency at the Mount Sinai West/Morningside.
During residency, Dr. Sivakumar spent extra time rotating on oncology wards and in oncology clinics. These experiences greatly influenced his practice style since they showed the importance of the partnership between patients and doctors. Above all, Dr. Sivakumar believes patients are at the center of all medicine and doctors are there as partners to help guide them through the many difficult decisions that come with chronic conditions.
