Biography

Dr. Karen (KJ) Browner-Elhanan is board-certified in pediatrics with a subspecialty in adolescent medicine. She completed her medical training and pediatric residency at Tel Aviv University. After working as an attending emergency room pediatrician in Israel, she went on to complete her residency training in pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center. Dr. Browner completed fellowship in adolescent medicine and community pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center.

Over the course of her career, Dr. Browner was a founder and division chief of several national academic departments of pediatric adolescent medicine and supported Gramercy Pediatrics since its inception as a clinical consultant. She also served as Chief Medical Officer for several national organizations, including the Indian Health Services in Nevada. In 2023, Dr. Browner joins Northwell Health, Concorde Medical Group Pediatrics as lead pediatrician for staff and faculty development of pediatric ambulatory services.

Dr. Browner has been named a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly and listed New York Magazine’s Top Doctors from 2011-2015 and listed as a Top Doctor in Westchester in 2012. She has been an editor for the American Academy of Pediatrics educational publications and has published many articles in the field of adolescent medicine and general pediatric medicine.

In her current practice, Dr. Browner provides primary care to children from birth, adolescent consultations and post-college care. She is an active advocate for pediatric and adolescent nutrition, mental health initiatives for children and the integration of behavioral health within the primary care setting.

She resides in Riverdale, NY, with her extended family. Her husband is a medical informaticist. She enjoys reading historical fiction, baseball (“Go Yankees”), traveling, and playing tennis and pickleball, as well as spending time with her grown children, their spouses, and her four grandchildren (two of whom are patients of this practice).
